I’ve always been fascinated by memory & how the human brain works to remember some things and forget others. We can remember events incorrectly and even be coerced into believing invented accounts and creating false memories.

‘Filling in the Blanks’ is a series of 3 prints created by pressing pink acrylic paint between layers of paper, resulting in spontaneous shapes which echo the fragmented & often unclear details of recollection.
I used blue ink to fill in blank areas that the paint had missed, introducing a distinct visual separation between the organic & intentional marks.
The piece explores the concept of how the human brain ‘fills in the blanks,’ attempting to reconstruct incomplete memories, blending what we remember with imagination.
'Filling in the blanks' included in eascair magazine vol.2
